The world’s most advanced topspin putters will be available
in October 2003.
ALL-TOPSPIN putters from Lindsay Putters are designed to give
topspin wherever the ball impacts the face.
This is unique.
We show in our SPIN MEASUREMENTS page
how simple direct measurements prove that putters we have tested
from several other manufacturers fail
to deliver on their topspin claims.
 |
Topspin helps the ball track more accurately compared to backspin,
since backspin tries to reverse the direction of the ball so any slight
off-line movement is magnified sideways. Topspin also improves length
control, by adding more putt length to compensate for impact offset
errors.
|
Three shaft styles will be available giving
face balance, toe balance or neutral balance (as shown).
Face balanced putters are preferred by
many but it’s worth trying out the toe balanced style.
With toe balance, the equilibrium position
of the putter at address automatically
squares the face along the line of putt.
All models have the same very special head
design, precision cast in 316 stainless
steel. The head shape gives low minimum inertia
(about the length axis). This, combined with a
high-compliance hosel positioned at the centre
of gravity, dramatically increases topspin. High
heel-toe weighting increases inertia about the
vertical axis for additional length and line forgiveness. |

Another special feature of these revolutionary putters is the patented
face surface. This distributes the force across the impact footprint
to reduce line errors caused by dimples on the golf ball.
A detailed view of the face surface is shown on the left. To view
